OCEANSIDE — The Oceanside RCMP is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 36 year old Carmel Gilmour out of the Oceanside, British Columbia area.
Carmel was last seen in the area of Little Mountain Road, Parksville on November 14, 2017 driving her van.
The van was then seen in the area of the 3100 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on November 15, 2017.
On November 21, 2017 a Qualicum Beach Resident reported a suspicious abandoned van. Upon police attendance, the van was confirmed to be the van that Gilmour was last seen in. Gilmour was not found in the area.
Investigators are trying to clarify Carmel’s physical movements, either in the van or while on foot (possibly hitch-hiking). This would include people that she may have been with or spoken to between November 14 and now.
Carmel is described as:
• GENDER: Female.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Brown, long.
• EYES: Hazel.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 5 inches.
• WEIGHT: Medium build.
