UPDATE: It is with a heavy heart that the British Columbia Missing Report shares that according to media sources the body of Sean David Kuntz was discovered. RCMP say foul play is not suspected in the man’s death, and the investigation has been handed over to the BC Coroners Service. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time. We would like to thank everyone who assisted by sharing this report as well as all of the first responders who were out looking for him. 


UPDATE: June 23, 2017: Investigators now believe there has been a confirmed sighting of Kuntz, at the Caribou Visitor Centre in 100 mile, BC on June 14th, 2017. They have also included an updated photo below which may assist in recognizing him. 


SMITHERS — The Smithers RCMP is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 45 year old Sean David Kuntz out of the Smithers, Williams Lake, Quesnel, British Columbia area.

Sean was last heard from on June 13, 2017.

He told his mother that he would be riding his bicycle from Smithers to Saanich to meet her. Sean left Smithers on Friday June 9, 2017 and he had last texted his mother on Tuesday June 13, 2017 and told her he was in between Quesnel and Williams Lake BC. It is believed that Sean has been sleeping on the side of the highway.


Sean is described as:

• GENDER: Male.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Dark.
• EYES: Dark.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 11 inches.
• OTHER: Missing half of thumb.
