UPDATE: The British Columbia Missing Report is sad to share that according to the Ashcroft RCMP the body of Clayton Cassidy was discovered. 

On Saturday evening on May 27, 2017 at approximately 10:30 pm,  the Ashcroft RCMP was advised that the body of missing person Clayton Cassidy was located in Cache Creek, by the Ashcroft fire dept during the daily patrol of Cache Creek.

Ashcroft RCMP, Search and Rescue technicians from Kamloops and the Ashcroft Fire Dept, worked throughout the night. Recovery efforts are continuing with SAR techs from the 100 Mile House SAR Team are attending to relieve the previous team. Mr Cassidy’s body was located a short distance away from the bridge wash out area. 

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time. We would like to thank everyone who assisted by sharing this report. 


ORIGINAL ARTICLE: CACHE CREEK — The Ashcroft RCMP is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 59 year old Clayton Cassidy out of the Cache Creek, British Columbia area.

Clayton was last seen on the morning of May 5, 2017. 

Mr. Cassidy who is employed as the Cache Creek Fire Chief was last known to be checking creek water levels early Friday morning and was reported as missing.

To date the investigation into his whereabouts have confirmed the Mr. Cassidy had been checking creek flow levels in Cache Creek, East of the village near Brookside Campground. Clayton Cassidy last had communication with someone early Friday overnight, and seen by the river. Mr Cassidy’s vehicle was also found at the location.

He was last seen wearing blue overalls.

The Cache Creek RCMP have activated area Search and Rescue resources, which include swift water technicians and SAR Service dog teams, stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk

Currently, an extensive ground and waters’ edge search is underway. Mr Clayton is considered as missing, added Cpl Dan Moskaluk.


Clayton is described as:

• GENDER: Male.
• ETHNICITY: Caucassian.
• HAIR: Brown.
• EYES: Brown.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 11 inches.
• WEIGHT: 177 pounds.
